Infant/Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation (IECMHC) is a preventive intervention that teams a mental health professional with early childhood programs to build the capacity of teachers and program leaders to promote social emotional development among infants and young children served, and prevent, identify and respond to early mental health and other behavioral challenges (Georgetown University for Child & Human Development; SAMHSA, 2014).
With support from the University of Wisconsin Office of Child Care & Family Resources, the UW IECMH Consultation Team provides consultation services to campus early care and education sites including The Child Development Lab, Eagles Wing and the Waisman Early Childhood Program.
